September 1st, the same day I started this little blog was the best day ever. I left work at 1:30 and received a call from my brother in law to see if I wanted to stop by the hospital on my way home. So I went right over to the labor and delivery department at the hospital and my parents were already there. Nothing was happening so we decided to go home. That is when I buckled down and worked on the blog to keep myself busy.
We were told the baby should come by around 5pm. Then they told us around 9pm. I received a call from my brother in law (justin) that mommy and baby were ok but they were going in for a c-section and that I had to wait until 930. Later my mom called and said wait until we call you as the c-section isn’t for a little while. So I kept getting work done I must say it was one of the most productive days I have ever had. Around 11pm Justin finally called me to tell me the baby had arrived. He was very careful not to tell me if it was a boy or a girl…I never left my house so fast rushed up the street parked and ran through the ER. At the other end of the ER the doors were locked the nurses there asked me where I was going and I was so happy and I am sure very expressive as I looked at them and said “my sister just had a baby!” they smiled and let me in. Once upstairs I didn’t know where to find them and was so anxious to find out what it was. I asked a nurse and she pointed me in the right direction. Once I entered the room it wasn’t important if it was a boy or a girl I just looked at my sister holding her baby and it was instant love.
She then introduced Gabrielle Marie Wheeler to our family for the first time. It was such a joyous moment. My grandma wept saying she had never in her 79 years liked her name until today as her great grand daughter is proudly named after her.
