This Summer I received a facebook message from Hilary a friend and old colleague from my days at House & Home. She was enquiring about having me create some save the dates for her wedding! I was so flattered that she picked me to help her out with this project cause that girl’s got style. I must admit it was the first time I was working for a designer and I was a little intimidated and worried that I wouldn’t find the perfect solution…but it turned out great! Here they are! Aren’t they gorgeous, stylish and cute together.
She wanted something different and so cool, for her save the date. Any guesses? She wanted a coaster!! How cool and different is that! Of course when ordering coasters you have to get a large quantity but she was ok with that since she could use them at all her wedding events.
Here’s a little back story on Hilary and her fiancé Ryan. Through Hilary’s view.
Ryan and I met through friends in Toronto about 5 years ago. We only met once briefly and then stayed in touch for basically 3 years (through facebook/e-mail) before we even saw one another again! Because he was living in Germany for hockey he only came back to Canada for 3 months during the summer, so our timing never really met up. He FINALLY (haha) asked me on a date about 2 years ago and we have been together ever since. Now we live together in Germany for about 8 months of the year and fly home to Ontario where we spend our summers.
How sweet is that! I remember when they first started dating Hilary was so happy and I loved getting updates. It was hard for her to let him go back to Germany without her but not long after she followed and I couldn’t be happier for them. Check out her blog here. She hasn’t posted in a little while but she said she is planning on getting back into it again soon.
And now for the final product! They turned out great and I love how they used PROST on the back side as a ode to their life in Germany. I can’t wait to see the wedding I am sure Hilary will design it to perfection.
